The Interi System adapts seamlessly into surgical practice

The Interi System is intended for use to remove fluids and exudates from closed internal wound sites after surgery and to approximate surgically-created tissue planes. The system can be used in acute and home care settings.

Interi has a unique set of features and benefits but at the same time, using the system is intuitive and based on fundamental surgical principles that surgeons use today.

The key steps in using the Interi System are:

The Manifold is placed in the surgical site after peeling apart the Manifold branches as desired. The branches should be arranged to ensure maximum suction coverage is achieved. If necessary, branches may be trimmed to desired length. Both the surgical site and the Manifold external tubing exit site must be air tight for the system to function properly.

After removing excess fluid from the surgical site and ensuring an airtight closure, remove the sterile Manifold Connector from the package and push it onto the end of the Manifold external tubing. Attach the Therapy Unit to the connector. Press the START button on the Therapy Unit to initiate internal suction pressure.

The Interi System has been designed for ease of use by patients at home. The patient and/or caregiver should be thoroughly trained on how to use Interi. The training should include care of the exit site and Manifold tubing, monitoring the fluid volume in the Therapy Unit, and the steps for changing a full Therapy Unit. They should also be instructed on warnings and cautions as listed in the Instructions for Use.

Use of the System should be discontinued based on surgeon practice. The Therapy Unit is disconnected from the Connector on the Manifold external tubing. The Manifold is gently pulled out of the body though the exit site. Dressing should be applied to the exit site per the surgeon’s standard protocol. This step would typically be performed in the surgeon’s office.

The IC Surgical system represents a "game changer" for both my abdominoplasty patients as well as my clinical staff. The combination of internal negative pressure with an elegant 4-channel manifold represents a significant advance in wound healing, patient satisfaction, acceptance and comfort are increased. I am delighted to be able to offer lipoabdominoplasty without the need for quilting sutures or tissue glue. My RNs & CSTs remark on the reduction of post op discomfort and lack of malfunction compared to traditional drains.
